My name is Ruben and I am the CEO and founder of Muller Energy Pty Ltd.
I’m a mechatronics engineer and have been working in the renewable energy and energy efficiency space for almost 10 years.
How it started
Energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage and climate change action have been great passions of mine for a long time. Right now is a very interesting time to be working in this exciting field, with lots of things happening; (some however, are taking a bit longer in Australia though!).
I first got involved with lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries when I was asked to upgrade an old lead acid battery in a camper van.
I already knew a little bit about LiFePO4 batteries, however this is when my research went into overdrive. And while I don’t profess to know every minute detail about LiFePO4 batteries, I certainly have a very good understanding of what they can do and how they work.
Where we are now
Soon after upgrading the camper van battery, I was selling 3.2V LiFePO4 cells to enthusiasts that wanted to build their own batteries for camper vans, 4WDs, boats and backup storage for their houses.
I then started looking at the market of 12V LiFePO4 batteries and found that while there were some quality batteries on the market, they tended to be very expensive.
The research into cheap batteries found that this is not a route I’d want to be going down, I would want to sell high quality batteries instead.
After months of design, our growing team came up with a range of 12V LiFePO4 batteries that we are be proud to sell.
As we know that they-are a quality product and -are long lasting, we are offering a 5-year Australian warranty on all our 12V batteries.
What the future might be
I’m very excited about the future as Muller Energy continues to grow and look forward to providing reasonably priced and high quality LiFePO4 batteries to the Australian market.
In the background we’re also working on a hybrid a car starter battery that utilises supercapacitors to start the engine. - This battery will also have another feature that we’re hoping to patent. I’m looking forward to releasing a lot more information on this development, as soon as possible -
